On Windows, iMazing relies on Apple components and drivers to communicate with iOS and iPadOS devices. If your device is not recognized, reinstalling these components in the correct order can resolve the issue. This guide covers three independent procedures: reinstalling iMazing components, reinstalling iTunes components (if you use the standalone version of iTunes), and removing pairing records from your computer.

Reinstall iMazing components

Follow these steps in the exact order listed.

Important: Some antivirus and security tools block iMazing from downloading or installing Apple mobile device components. Disable your antivirus before proceeding and re-enable it after the reinstall is complete.

  1. Uninstall iMazing (this does not affect your backups, preferences, or data stored on your computer by iMazing).
  2. Remove the following folders if they exist:
    • C:\ProgramData\DigiDNA\iMazing\AppleDrivers
    • C:\ProgramData\DigiDNA\iMazing\MobileDevice

Note: ProgramData is a hidden Windows folder. To access it, follow the instructions in View hidden files and folders in Windows.

  3. Restart your computer.
  4. Download and run a fresh iMazing installer from iMazing.com. The installer automatically reinstalls all required Apple components and drivers.

Reinstall iTunes components

Note: This section applies only if you have the standalone version of iTunes installed (not the Microsoft Store version). If you installed iTunes from the Microsoft Store, skip to step 3.

Follow these steps in the exact order listed.

  1. Uninstall iTunes.
  2. Uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support (if installed).
  3. Uninstall Bonjour (if installed).
  4. Uninstall Apple Application Support 32-bit (if installed).
  5. Uninstall Apple Application Support 64-bit (if installed).
  6. Remove the following folders if they still exist after uninstalling:
    • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Application Support
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Application Support
    • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
    • C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
  7. Reinstall iTunes using the version that matches your Windows version and CPU architecture:

    Windows version

    Architecture

    Download

    Windows 10 or 11

    64-bit

    iTunes for Windows 10/11 64-bit

    Windows 10

    32-bit

    iTunes for Windows 10 32-bit

    Windows 7 or 8

    64-bit

    iTunes for Windows 7/8 64-bit

    Windows 7 or 8

    32-bit

    iTunes for Windows 7/8 32-bit

  8. Restart your computer.

Remove iOS pairing records from your computer

Pairing records link your device to your computer. Removing them forces a clean re-pairing on the next connection.

  1. Open iMazing. If your device appears in the sidebar, select it and use Forget in the Device Info view to remove it from iMazing.
  2. Quit iMazing.
  3. Remove the following folder from your computer if it exists:
    C:\ProgramData\Apple\Lockdown\

Note: ProgramData is a hidden Windows folder. To access it, follow the instructions in View hidden files and folders in Windows.

  4. Reconnect your device via USB and tap Trust on the device when prompted.
