If iMazing does not recognize your iPod Shuffle on Mac, this is a known compatibility limitation. The Mac version of iMazing does not support iPod Shuffle. The Windows version does.

Understand the Mac limitation

iMazing on Mac cannot connect to iPod Shuffle. This is a compatibility limitation tied to macOS, not a configuration issue. No troubleshooting step will resolve it.

When Apple released macOS 10.15 Catalina, iTunes was removed. Along with it went native support for iPod Shuffle. Unlike iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad, the iPod Shuffle does not appear in Finder and cannot be managed through it. It relies on a proprietary Apple sync protocol that Finder does not implement.

The iPod Shuffle does mount as a USB device, but macOS provides no native interface to manage its content or transfer music. iMazing on Mac inherits this limitation.

Note: This applies to all current macOS versions, including Ventura, Sonoma, and Sequoia.

Use iMazing on Windows

iMazing on Windows supports iPod Shuffle. If you have access to a Windows PC, connect your iPod Shuffle there to manage your content.

Download and install iMazing
