Transfer Call History from iPhone to a Mac or PC computer
Your iPhone logs every call you make or receive, storing the date, time, contact, and duration. However, only the last 100 calls are accessible on the device, via the Recents tab of the Phone app. iMazing gives you access to the complete call history on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, including FaceTime calls, without limit.
With iMazing on macOS or Windows, you can export your call logs in Excel or CSV format, ready to use in Numbers, Google Sheets, or any other spreadsheet application.
Here's how to Transfer Call History from iPhone to a Mac or PC computer:
Open Call History
In the device Overview screen, click on Call History in the upper Data Section.
Choose how to load your data
iMazing needs to create a backup to extract data from your device. You can choose whether you only need access to your call history, or whether you want to create a full, restorable backup of the device. A partial backup uses much less storage, but both options take about the same amount of time because all files are streamed from your device to your computer during the process. iMazing cannot control which files are streamed.
Important: Backup encryption is required to access call history. If iMazing displays an "Unable to Load Data" screen, follow our Backup Encryption guide, then restart the process.
Click Start to launch the operation. iMazing prompts you to enter the passcode on the device.
Important: The first time you back up a device with iMazing, the process may take 30 minutes or more, depending on how much data is stored on the device. USB speed (whether your device supports USB 3.1 or 2.0) and the backup location (for example, a NAS or external drive) can also affect the time it takes. Please be patient. If a backup of the device already exists, iMazing shows the following prompt instead. Choose whether to open the existing backup or run a subsequent backup to refresh the contents.
Tip: Subsequent backups are incremental and much faster. You can request a newer backup at any time with the Refresh button (the circular arrow) in the top toolbar.
Browse your call history
Once iMazing finishes loading the data, it displays your call history in the main window.
Browse an existing backup
You can browse your call history without connecting your iPhone, as long as iMazing already holds a backup of the device. iMazing can also open backups made with iTunes, Finder, or Apple Devices once you add them to iMazing.
- On the Home Screen, open the Backups section to see every backup iMazing manages.
- Select the backup you want to open. iMazing opens it so you can browse its content, no device connection is required.
- On the backup Overview, click Call History in the datasets row.
Note: When browsing from a backup, iMazing reads only the stored backup, so no new backup is created. For more on browsing and extracting data, see the Manage your backups with iMazing guide.
Browse from a previous snapshot
Each time iMazing backs up your device, it keeps a timestamped snapshot, so you can open your call history as it existed at an earlier date. This works like macOS Time Machine, applied to your iOS or iPadOS backups.
By default, iMazing shows the current state of your device or the latest backup. To reach an earlier state:
- Select your device or a backup from the Home Screen.
- In the upper toolbar, click the Now button to open the Snapshot List.
- Select an earlier snapshot. iMazing reloads the Call History view with the calls contained in that snapshot.
A gray checkmark marks the state you are currently viewing. Select Now again to return to the current state.

Select Contacts
By default, All is selected at the top of the contacts list. Select the contact(s) whose call history you want to export. To export every call that matches the active filters, skip this step. To export specific calls only, select them now.
Tip: Use CTRL (Windows) or Command (macOS), or SHIFT, to select multiple contacts or calls.
Search and filter your call history
The Call History view offers a search field, a service filter, and a date range filter to help you find specific calls.
- Type a contact name or phone number in the Search Call History field, at the top right of the window, to narrow the contacts list in the left column. Then select a contact to see its calls. The call list does not change while All remains selected.
- Select FaceTime Audio, FaceTime Video, or a phone line in the Services menu, above the call list, to show only the calls of that service. If your device has several SIM or eSIM lines, each line appears separately. Select All to show every service again.
- Set the date range next to From, at the top right of the view, to show only the calls within that period.
Combine the filters to narrow the list further. iMazing exports every call that matches the active filters.
Export to Excel or CSV
In the bottom toolbar, click Export, then choose Excel or CSV in the menu.
If you selected calls, iMazing asks what to export: Only selected items or All items. The status bar shows the current selection count.
In the save dialog, select a destination folder, then click Choose on macOS or Save on Windows.
Tip: To copy calls directly into a spreadsheet, set the separator character to Tabs in Preferences.
What to Keep in Mind
- To transfer your call history to a new iPhone, create a backup of your current device, then restore that backup to the new one.
